My new poem relating the "Song of Revolution" with the Bone Marrow Registry.
The Karmic Revolution
Tell me a tale of the Revolution, Spreading the karma around the globe, Enlightening the world with compassion To share life and hope across sees. Tell me a tale of Revolution, Deafening the myths with enthusiasm: Fueled with the strength of youth and laughter, And never the echo of regret. O mighty roll of the Revolution, Ending the centuries of bloody ends, Ending the ignorance of pop culture, Big with the laughter of rejuvenated life. Sharing strands for darker races, Breaking the stigma that has stalled for years, Crushing the barriers dooming peoples, Thanking the Gods for selflessness and hope, Cutting, O flame of the Revolution, Fear from the nurse's syringe, So that the children of all creation Waken, at last, to the joy of life. |
In the wake of my mother's diagnosis of Myelofibrosis and her need for a peripheral blood stem cell transplant, our family has worked hard to spread awareness about the international registry for bone marrow donors. Through our drives around the country we have swabbed over 1,200 cheeks and are even working on starting a non-profit organization to promote donating bone marrow, blood, and platelets. In the mean time check out my project site Swab On for more information and go ahead and get swabbed!
